The Headland Bass Team Kicks Off the WSAT Season on the Alabama River
As the sun began to rise over the picturesque Alabama River, anglers from the Headland Bass Team gathered with anticipation at Cooter’s Pond ramp. It was the first tournament of the season, and the air was filled with excitement and a hint of nervous energy. Cooter’s Pond ramp, nestled on the banks of the Alabama River in Prattville, provided the perfect backdrop for the start of the Wiregrass trail.
Fishing tournaments are not without their challenges, and the team encountered their fair share during this tournament. Changing water levels, and the ever-elusive nature of bass made it a true test of skill and adaptability.
The team finished with 3 boats in the top 25 capped by the 13th place finish of Reiston Ratchford and John Parker Deal. Behind them in 17th were Fletcher Brasington and Mo Katz.
The next tournament for the team will be WSAT number 2 on the Tensaw Delta in a few weeks. But you can see the team at the homecoming parade this Thursday in Headland.
