May 2020 – It was quite the surprise when the Headland Bass Team was invited to spend the afternoon with legendary angler and Bass Master Classic winner Hank Parker. Parker was in Headland filming an episode of Hank Parker’s Outdoor Magazine. He was filming an episode at Headland’s beautiful Lake Semm managed by Chris Helms. Outdoor Magazine is currently in its 23rd season and airs on multiple outdoor networks.

The anglers were treated to some bar-b-q courtesy of Headland Fist Bank and some small talk and stories from Parker. After lunch, the students participated in a flipping competition where the winner was treated to an hour of private fishing with Parker. Following that, the remaining anglers paired up for an hour each of fishing.

Originally scheduled as a team event, Covid-19 guidelines limited participation to seven anglers. The episode will likely air in the spring of 2021.
