October 2019 – It was a windy and rainy day on Martin for the Headland Bass Team this weekend. The team fished the 3rd tournament in the Wiregrass Student Angler series. Headland did very well in the 70 boat field and it was all smiles for the Herbold/Peters team who managed to break the 10 pound mark for their 4th place finish. Fininshing behind them in the top 25 were the Grandstaff/Quinlivan team and the Cherry/Choquette team, who both managed to break the 8 pounud mark.
The Junior Division was won by none other than Headlands own Melancon and Westerfield. These young anglers were able to assemble a 9 pound bag that would have beaten most of the high school teams. We sure are looking forward to what they can do in the future.
The next tournament is the finale for the 2019 WSAT on Lake Eufaula. We’d like to thank everyone who braved the win and rain that came to cheer on the team!
