August 2019 – Four Headland teams were able to cap off their 2018-2019 season with a trip to the Mossy Oak Bassmaster High School National Championship this past weekend. The event was held on Kentucky Lake outside of Paris, Tn, and featured 300 anglers from around the nation. In the heat of summer every bite counts and after 4 days of practice the lake seemed to be causing trouble for Headland anglers. The leam of Aiden and Cameron were able to find the most fish at the close of day 2 and finished highest on the team in 62nd place. They had to cover a lot of shoreline and admitted that it was grueling days with lots of casts. The team of Alexis and James were off to a strong day 1 start, but on day 2 their offshore fishing spots were overrun with the infamous Kentucky lake carp.
The National Championship is an exciting place to be, and to have 4 teams represent Headland was amazing. We are thankful for the support of out family, friends, and comminuty in helping us get there. Everyone that made the 9 hour drive to show support should know that they are very appreciated.

The Healand Bass team fishes it’s first 2019-2020 tournament in September on the Moblile Delta. We look forward to starting a successful year. We also have a rib sale going on now, the day fo pick up will be Friday, Aug 30th.
