May 2019 – Another poor weather weekend had everyones weigh-in times cut short on Smith Lake this weekend in Cullman, AL. The threat of lightning storms caused the weigh in to be pushed up 2 hours and everyones plans to change. The team of Aaron Cherry and Hudson Choquette knew that they had less time to key in on the larger isolated largemouth that they had targeted in practice after a long lake run in the morning. They felt more pressure to get more spotted bass to fill in the missing holes in their weigh in bag. Brady Brasington felt like he had no trouble getting the bass to eat his fluke, he just wished that they had been a little bigger, while he was covering the mid-range water his partner Caemon Metcalf was weeding through multiple Smith Lake slot limit fish with a shaky head. The majority of the team finished in the top 50.

With this being the last tournament of the B.A.S.S. Tiger Division, the AOY point race was decided at the ramp as well. Headland had 2 teams in the top 10 and one knocking at the door in 11th. Hudson and Aaron finished in 3rd, Alexis and James in 7th, and Cal and Andrew in 11th. That is an amazing accomplishment for these kids and we are very proud of them.

The Junior team of Fair and Sanders had an awesome 6th place finish, while Peters and Choquette finished in 10th.

We would like to thank all the moms that gave up this weekend to help us, and for all the support that they always give.

Next weekend finds the BASS Jr. State Championship on Lake Eufaula and the EAHSB Finale on Wespoint Lake at the same time.
