April 2019- It was a great day on the water, despite the wind, for Headland Bass Team anglers Gracie and Asher. Their 14 pound bag put them in 19th place for the Bassmaster High School Southern Open. 293 anglers competed for 29 spots for the Nation Championship on Kentucky Lake later this year. They had a long day of dragging worms through 10 foot of grass. Finishing behind them on the team were Aaron and Hudson in 79th. While they were on big bedding fish in practice, they remained elusive on tournament day. The rest of the team struggled to repeat what they found in practice. There were many short fish caught.

There was also a Junior bracket in the open and we are proud of our younger kids who struggled out there in the weather.

Again, none of this is possible without the help of our sponsors, parents, and awesome house moms that keep the wheels greased. Also, congratuations to out friends from Rehobeth Laney Skipper and Taylor Brown for their awesome 3rd place finish and representing outr little corner of Alabama.

You can see the Headland Bass Team next on the Mobile Tensaw Delta in the exciting conclusion of the WSAT series.

Results:
Herbold/Peters – 19th
